Alastair Smith teaches in the Library and Information Management group of the School of Information Management at Victoria University of Wellington.

Teaching

Alastair has also delivered seminars in Vietnam as part of the Information Networks for the future: a joint Vietnam - New Zealand project.

While Alastair's students do learn quite rapidly, Alastair is not an expert in Accelerated Learning. If this is your interest, you might want to try his namesake Alistair Smith (who seems an nice chap, apart from spelling his name wrong!)

Research Interests

Application of computers and networks to information retrieval of document-based information. Particular interests are

Maintains the WWW Virtual Library section on Evaluation of information sources. On the editorial boards of Cybermetrics, the Journal of Web Librarianship, and Information Science Research. .
